Thanks Jenny - yes, I agree, there are parallels between the two plays. The Gatehouse isn't that far from me - thanks for letting me know about its Twelfth Night, I'll keep an eye on what's coming up there.

Hamlet is this year’s summer Shakespeare - another one I haven’t read yet! Romeo and Juliet at the castle was brilliant a few years ago (read that one in English Lit!) Unfortunately funding constraints mean they can’t afford to set up the outdoor stage at the castle now, but at least the 30-year tradition of summer Shakespeare continues

"Dromio, Dromio, where art thou and who art thou Dromio?"

I shall, reading this, not just now but henceforward look forward to engaging with this text by Bill of Stratford whenever I find myself en-route to Syracuse or, vice versa, to Ephesus.

I wonder if, on opening whatever print or e-book copy I happen perchance to have to hand, the frontispiece will on eyeballing launch me into an unexpected, doubtless loud and dubiously tuned, rendition of Greensleeves?

Adieu Annette, until next you write such another Sunday veritable treat on The Errors of Comedy, I say again Annette Adieu!
