York's hidden gem
Aww, thanks for the mention and the post. It is fascinating how much people will risk for belief. I must watch the Lucy Worsley show!
I’m so glad I saw your article before I left for York! It’s a great Lucy Worsley episode - well worth a watch.
I’ve stayed there a few times! The little garden is lovely.
How lovely - I saw the garden through the window during the tour. A peaceful spot.
Never seen a spotted devil under Michael’s foot before.
There were several fascinating statues flanking the doorway - only had time to snap that one. How old do you reckon it is? C16th?
I wish I had that kind of knowledge, but what a thing to contemplate. Surviving centuries and iconoclastic rages..
I love the swan-like neck of Michael (like Boticelli’s Venus), and the shocks of red. Wonder if any other colors have faded.
Absolutely!
Thanks; great photos!
By the way, if you don't know it, I recommend

I don’t know it. - thank you!
I love this place! And it's my favourite cafe in York 😍
Sadly we didn’t have time to sample the cafe. I clearly have to go back!
What a fine setting in and around which to whip-up a gossamer candyfloss of an historical fiction. Long time since I was last in York. This Sunday morning gem of a short report has given me good reason to go, again, when I can.
Thank you Rob! I really enjoyed visiting.
